Having been a working mother I understand how difficult it is for parents to find good quality child care. I feel I have the love, knowledge, experience and qualities needed to provide a warm, loving environment in which children can learn and grow. I believe that children are the most important part of our future, and I will work with you to establish the solid foundation children need to feel secure and to provide stability for their future.
I take my profession as a child care provider, not as a "babysitter", very seriously. You are trusting me with your prized possesion - your child. I do not take that trust lightly.
I am certified in Infant, Child and Adult CPR, First Aid and SIDS training.
I have an AA Degree with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I have started taking classes to work towards my BA in Early Childhood Education.
I have acheived Level 5 through the Maryland Child Care Credential Program. The Maryland Child Care Credential Program recognizes child care providers who go beyond the requirements of State licensing and registration regulations. It is strictly a VOLUNTARY program. Through this program I am required to take more training each year than what the State of Maryland requires and document additional areas where I've gone above and beyond in my child care than what is required-all of which benefit my child care, my program, the children and their families enrolled. I will do what I need to in the way of training and workshops to constantly increase my knowledge and skills.
I have earned my Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in recognition of outstanding work with young children. The credential was awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, DC, which represents the early childhood education profession.
I have completed Maryland Model For School Readiness (MMSR) Training. Through this training I fine tuned my observational skills, learned about how to put together a portfolio and learned ways to help ensure children are ready for Kindergarten by the time they start. When your child leaves my care you will be given their portfolio to share with their next teacher. Click here to see a complete list of training I've completed.
I am embarking on a new journey in my business to obtain my Accreditation through NAFCC . I am just starting the self study process.
On a more personal note, I have been married for 19 years to my wonderful, supportive husband, John and we have five children - Matt, 19; Zach, 16; David, 6; Emilee, 5 and Andrew, 10 months. Yes, our youngest was born as our oldest began his college education! We also have a miniture daschund named Max and 5 hermit crabs - Rainbow, Coconut, Emerald, Oreo and Pearl.
My dream has always been to work with children and 7 years ago when we decided to expand our family I was blessed with the opportunity to start my home child care business and I have LOVED every minute of it.
